My Breastfeeding Journey Recalling back my firstborn breastfeeding journey was not a good memory so for this second round, I wanted to do it right from the start. Allowing my newborn to latch as frequently to stimulate milk production first and it takes time. By the 3rd day, my breast started to feel so engorged and in pain that my baby was not keen to latch thus I needed to find a way to quickly drain out to reduce complications. Staying at the confinement center, I can get help to massage my breasts first to ease the engorgement and let me tell you it's a hate-love relationship during the session. Next, I started pumping 3 hourly schedules to drain out and it's started to feel better. My current goal in the breastfeeding journey is to drain out properly and maintain supply by pumping freely yet easily and also offer breastfeeding on demand.
